May 2013 - IASC Recieves 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate Award

Itasca Area Schools Collaborative (IASC), has been named a 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate in an especially competitive year for the prestigious program.  IASC was selected by a panel of 22 distinguished judges -- many of them Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader Honorees from diverse industries -- to evaluate the humanitarian benefits and measurable results of applying technology to meet a specific social or business need.  The IASC case study was selected from more than 700 nominations to become one of 269 Laureates from 29 countries.

Itasca Area Schools Collaborative was recognized Monday, June 3 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. During this gala evening, IASC achievements were recognized publicly as each Laureate was presented with a medallion inscribed with the program's mission, "A Search for New Heroes." Additionally, five Laureates from each of the 11 Honors categories will be named as finalists for a 21st Century Achievement Award. One finalist in each category will then be named a 21st Century Achievement Award winner. These awards will be announced on site at the event.

All Laureate case studies will be inducted into the program's International Archives and featured online at http://www.cwhonors.org.

The June 3rd issue of Computerworld magazine will also feature a selection of this year's Honors Laureates.

The Honors program, founded in 1988, recognizes organizations and individuals who have used information technology to promote and advance public welfare, benefit society and business and change the world for the better.
